Kitchen concept of the future
The “Future Caravan Mobile Solutions” project started as early as in 2009. On behalf of Dometic, the world-leading provider of accessories to the RV industry, 15 students of the Architecture Department of the University of Siegen developed a kitchen concept for life on the go. At this year’s Caravan Salon, the results of the study will be presented for the first time to the general public. The project was implemented in cooperation with specialists from V-Group & Ross Design.
“The results are truly impressive. Finally, we decided to implement the concept created by Birthe Lingens and Marcel Kipping,” explains Bernd Löher, Authorised Officer and Sales Manager of Dometic. The two students approached the design task from a woman’s and a man’s perspectives. In the end this resulted in a swivelling kitchen block – an idea entirely new and unique to the market.
“The swivelling kitchen block can be used from inside the awning, which brings caravan and motorhome enthusiasts a genuine plus in comfort,” says Löher.
Everybody wishing to see the result of “Caravan Future Mobile Solutions” live on stage is cordially invited to attend the Dometic presentation in Hall 13, Booth A31. This year’s edition of Caravan Salon Düsseldorf takes place from 27 August to 5 September.
