LCD front camera systems – a safe bet on better vision
David against Goliath: to this day bad accidents happen at crossroads, T-junctions and roundabouts, because truck drivers overlook pedestrians or cyclists next to their vehicle. Every year 400 people in Europe die from the consequences of such accidents. The PerfectView FVS 740X front camera system gives you a perfect overview of what’s happening in front and beside your vehicle.

| The camera delivers a true-sided image. The picture on the monitor is crystal-clear, bright and high in contrast. |
Safety bonus at night-time: the ball camera provides high-contrast pictures even in unlighted parking areas. |
The compact ball camera does not protrude beyond the bodywork: optimal protection from damage in the wash bay, by tree branches or when manoeuvring. |
Alternatively, you can fit your vehicle with a combined front camera / reversing video system. The modular PerfectView range gives you various options. For example, you can simply upgrade the PerfectView FVS 740X front camera system by adding a rear-view camera. Or you buy the CAM 40 front camera and combine it with one of our 7" LCD reversing video systems (RVS 750X or RVS 780X). Both work with the M 7LX LCD colour monitor, which – in combination with the CAM 40 – is certified as a front camera system according to the 2003/97/EC mirror directive.
Cameras and accessories to complement front camera systems
You have fitted a front camera system? Here is an interesting upgrade option: simply connect a reversing camera to the second monitor input – and you’ll be able to monitor the “blind spot” as well as the area behind your vehicle.
Good to know: the two systems don’t interfere with one another. The front camera is activated by the indicator, the rear-view camera by reverse gear. If you add the new GPS 30 signal transmitter, the front camera will turn on only at relevant speeds of under 30 km/h. Using the SWITCH switchbox gives you the option to connect two additional cameras, e.g. for the trailer or for monitoring a working area.

2003/97/EC directive All utility vehicles with a permissible gross weight over 7.5 t have been subject, since January 2007, to the EU mirror directive. New vehicles may only be registered if they are equipped with indirect vision devices that comply with the directive. For the front area, this may as well be a camera-monitor system. An amended directive stipulates that wideangle and close-proximity mirrors must also be fitted on vehicles of 3.5 t and above – even on those already registered. |
