New: WAECO MagicWatch wireless parking aids
Fitted in record time
Good news for perfectionists with little time: the elegant ultrasonic sensors of the 9-Series, already known from WAECO’s premium models, MagicWatch MWE 900 and MWE 910, are now also available as wireless systems. This guarantees fast and hassle-free installation, because the reliable, wireless signal transmission between the control unit and the loudspeaker eliminates the effort of having to lay cables across the length of the vehicle. There’s no need to spend time and nerves searching for the ideal cable routing either.
The new wireless parking aid range from automotive accessory specialist WAECO comprises two different models. WAECO MagicWatch WPS 900F, designed for use in the front bumper and suitable for vehicles up to 2.20 metres wide, can be installed up to one hour faster than a hard-wired system. The robust control unit, splash-proof according to protection class IP54, is fitted straight in the bumper. There’s no need to drill through the vehicle’s bulkhead.
The distance to an obstacle is measured by four ultrasonic sensors; the vehicle parameters can be conveniently set as required. System activation is via the speed signal, a timer or, optionally, a switch on the loudspeaker. The latter emits an acoustic signal, which is complemented by a visual warning via the integrated LED indicators. The system has a radio range of up to 25 metres, which means it is reliable and safe under all conditions.
Installation is child’s play with the integrated CAN bus interface for the speed signal, and also thanks to the punching tool supplied with each parking aid to guarantee neat installation of the sensors in the bumper. A special punching method ensures that the paint around the hole will not be damaged, cracked or chipped.
Even more safety and convenience is provided by the all-round system, WAECO MagicWatch WPS 910. Designed for installation in the front and rear bumpers, it offers all the benefits of the front system. The difference is that it comes with eight sensors and two separate control units for the front and rear. The rear sensors are activated via reverse gear, the front parking sensors respond in the same way as with the WPS 900F front system (speed signal, timer or loudspeaker switch).
On both systems the middle and outside sensors can be set independently of one another, which makes a tailor-made “early warning system” that perfectly matches the vehicle.
