Automotive original equipment – OEM news

WAECO has made a name for itself as the specialist in mobile refrigeration. Our know-how is appreciated by consumers and trading partners as well as by the automotive industry. WAECO is the world’s leading supplier of integrated cooling solutions. Working for leading car manufacturers, we design bespoke cooling compartments, car coolers and battery chargers to suit the vehicle interior. Built-in coolers are increasingly offered as factory-fitted optional equipment.

Ford Flex

Fresh design idea for a fresh vehicle concept

For the youngest offspring of the Ford vehicle family, WAECO has created something truly unique and bespoke: a compressor-powered car cooler that will even provide reliable and adjustable deep-freezing up to -5°C – regardless of whether or not the engine is running. Featuring innovative technology combined with a new type of insulation, the WAECO BordBar cools 40 percent faster than a home refrigerator. Its size is fine for family use: there’s room for four half-litre bottles, plus fruit and vegetables for the journey. And even iced lollies for the little foodies on board.

John Deere 6030

Smart built-in cooler for a refreshing working environment

The premium tractors of the 6030 Series are definitely living up to their name. Their completely redesigned cabin interior leaves nothing to be desired. Besides handy details for enhanced working comfort, it offers the amenities of an integrated WAECO fridge. Cool refreshment to luxury sedan standards is now within reach for everyone.

Security and comfort at the very highest level

Daimler’s latest luxury armoured sedan, the W221 S-Guard, combines in a unique way the comfortable feeling of security with the amenities of a superb travelling ambience. The latter includes a newly developed, compressor-powered WAECO BordBar integrated in the rear middle console to chill the champagne. Naturally, the WAECO car cooler can be supplied in 15 leather trim colours to match the interior.

The new S Class: now with built-in compressor cooler

Designed to bring cool luxury to Mercedes S Class drivers, this optional BordBar provides a larger capacity than its predecessor. At a generous 15 litres, it accommodates up to four 1.5-litre bottles. The temperature can be set in two stages to suit different requirements. Practical detail: the cooler can be removed to make room for a ski bag.

And now we really get going: 230 volts as standard

For the first time ever, a European series-produced car comes with a 230-volt Euro-socket. The alternating current is generated by a WAECO inverter, which turns 12 volts into 230 volts. The Passat shows how Volkswagen is using WAECO’s after-market competence in automotive accessories for its original equipment business.
