Loss of warranty entitlements The air-conditioning expert WAECO warns about using forming gas for leak detection Due to compressor damage, which has been occurring with increasing frequency for some time, the air-conditioning experts WAECO are issuing an urgent warning about using forming gas for detecting leaks in vehicle air-conditioning systems. One of the many drawbacks of the forming gas leak detection method, which is of little use in practice, is that it does not indicate leakage at normal operating pressures or leakage due to vibrations, and more often than not the cause of a known leak cannot be identified. Compressor damage is the inevitable consequence. As a preventative method, leak detection using UV additives has instead been proven to provide the best results. ASC series: approved safety Working with WAECO A/C service centres refrigerants are clean, says TÜV WAECO's A/C service centres of the ASC series fully meet the strict quality standards for refrigerant cleaning according to the international regulation SAE J2099/J2210. With its official test certificate the TÜV Rhineland confirms the effectiveness of the refrigerant cleaning function of WAECO A/C service centres.  That’s why from now on all units of the successful ASC series are being equipped with a stamp of quality.  As a special service WAECO offers customers to retrofit A/C service centres in workshops. Foreign bodies such as swarf often cause damage. Refrigerant leaks and losses can cause the PAG oil to overheat, rendering it unusable due to loss of lubricity. Based on consistent customer feedback, WAECO’s recycling units are no longer named “RHS“ (the international abbreviation for “refrigerant handling station”) but AirCon Service Center (ASC for short). Wishing to develop its competence in automotive air conditioner servicing, the innovative company recently commenced producing the units in-house, in its main factory in Emsdetten, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. » more
