La evacuación de sistemas de aire acondicionado para automóviles debe realizarse con bombas de vacío diseñadas a tal efecto. Una evacuación demasiado rápida debida a una sobredimensión de la bomba de vacío provocará la congelación de restos de humedad en el sistema de aire acondicionado y, en consecuencia, un funcionamiento defectuoso.

Los sistemas de aire acondicionado para automóviles actuales tienen un volumen máximo de aire de 3 litros. Por lo tanto, durante el proceso de evacuación, únicamente pasarán por el acoplador de servicio 3 litros de aire por minuto. Las bombas de vacío que se aparecen a continuación están específicamente diseñadas para satisfacer los requerimientos de capacidad de los sistemas de aire acondicionado para automóviles.

Si el rendimiento de la bomba es demasiado alto, la humedad puede congelarse, lo que a su vez puede conducir a un funcionamiento incorrecto del sistema de aire acondicionado.
