Is my workshop ready for R 134a and R 1234yf?

What do you know about R 1234yf?

R 1234yf is the new refrigerant for passenger cars. R 1234yf was introduced by several car manufacturers for new car models in 2011.

What happens with R 134a?

R 134a will remain on the market for decades. R 134a will still be used in other vehicles and the aftermarket. R 134a is banned in new cars with new chassis manufactured after 2010. R 134a will be banned in new cars manufactured 2017.

R 12 was banned and replaced by R 134a.

R 134a was banned in new manufactured cars with new chassis.

Refrigerant used for new vehicles must have a GWP of below 150, meaning that R 134a is out of question.

R 134a will be phased out gradually as vehicle fleets age.
