Performance verification of air conditioners (Step 2)

  1. The execution must follow the settings for the test conditions described in step 1.
  2. Measure the air inlet temperature with the temperature measurement instrument. For this purpose, the measuring instrument’s sensor must be exactly in the middle nozzle.
  3. Start the engine and set the engine speed at 1500 – 2000 rpm.

Temperature table:

Outside temperature at the vehicle / ambient temperature  20°C 25°C 30°C 35°C
Exhaust temperature at the centre nozzle 6 – 8°C 7 –10°C  8 –12°C  10 – 14°C

Note

Compare the obtained values with the data specified according to the temperature table.

  • The measured value obtained is higher than the value that is specified in the temperature table?
    • YES: For problem-solving, use base table A.
    • NO: Does the air conditioning system have an abnormally loud noise?
      • YES: For problem-solving, use base table B.
      • NO: Does the air conditioner cause an unpleasant smell?
        • YES: For problem-solving, use base table C.
        • NO: The air conditioning unit works flawlessly.
