WAECO ASC 7 Series: Innovative Climate Service Solutions

The first models of the WAECO ASC 7 Series are expected to launch by the end of Q1 2025, with additional models completing the product family at a later date. At the Frankfurt trade fair, WAECO will unveil three key new models for the passenger car market: the ASC 7.3, ASC 7.3 LE, and ASC 7.744. New models for buses and vehicles with larger refrigerant volumes (ASC 7.4 and ASC 7.4 LE) will also be showcased.

WAECO ASC 7 Series Features

The new models boast a completely redesigned aesthetic with a sleek black finish and clean lines. A standout feature is the new “All-in-view” display, now equipped with digital pressure gauges. A practical integrated status bar shows process progress at a glance. The devices also feature an expanded capacity of four ports for compressor oils and UV additives, eliminating the need for constant switching of cans in workshop settings.

WiFi connectivity, previously available only through an additional device, is now integrated directly into the 7 Series.
Key tried-and-true features have been retained, such as the movable display and the maintenance-free internal scale.

In response to user feedback, physical buttons have replaced touch buttons, making the devices easy to operate even while wearing gloves. Guido Sasse, Managing Director of WAECO Germany WSE GmbH, explains:
"Many users specifically requested this, and we’re pleased to deliver."

LowEmission Models: Efficient and Eco-Friendly

Like its predecessors, the 7 Series offers standard models (ASC 7.3 for passenger cars/trucks and ASC 7.4 for larger refrigerant volumes) alongside LowEmission (LE) models.

The LowEmission models, ASC 7.3 LE and ASC 7.4 LE, include a specialized used-oil container and an intelligent integration of the vacuum pump into the process, minimizing refrigerant loss. This is both a proactive environmental measure and an increasingly important cost-saving solution.

The importance of this innovation is underscored by the upcoming 2025 F-Gas Regulation update, which is expected to make R134a refrigerant scarcer than ever in Europe.

Successors to Top-Selling Models

The ASC 7.3 and ASC 7.3 LE will succeed the bestselling ASC 6300 G and ASC 6300 G LE models. Similarly, the ASC 7.4 and ASC 7.4 LE will replace the ASC 6400 G and ASC 6400 G LE models.

Like the current 6000 Series, the 7 Series devices are certified for four refrigerants:

  • R1234yf
  • R134a
  • R456A
  • R513A

Each device requires an installation kit for connection, which includes fittings for air conditioning systems, hoses (available in 3 m, 5 m, or 8 m lengths), adapters if necessary, and initial supply cans for compressor oil and UV additive. During setup, the installation kit is permanently assigned to the ASC unit.

WAECO ASC 7.744: For CO₂ Air Conditioning Systems

The WAECO ASC 7.744 shares the same design and user-friendly features as the rest of the 7 Series. Specifically designed for CO₂ air conditioning systems, it will be launched in 2025.

Workshops will have two options:

  1. The brand-new CO₂ climate service device.
  2. An upgrade kit, enabling standard climate service devices to handle CO₂ systems.

Both solutions will be presented at Automechanika Frankfurt.

Focus on Electric Vehicles

In addition to showcasing the new climate service devices, WAECO will highlight service and repair solutions for electric vehicles (EVs).

Contrary to popular belief, EVs require significant attention from technicians. Advanced thermal management systems feature extensive refrigerant lines, which can make leak detection particularly challenging. WAECO demonstrates how UV leak detection can save time and effort for EV service needs.

Manufacturer-Quality Climate Components

WAECO also offers a growing range of OEM-equivalent climate components, including parts for Tesla and other EV brands. As EVs age and enter independent workshops, these components provide reliable alternatives.

WAECO will also provide demonstrations on:

  • Flushing air conditioning systems after compressor damage.
  • The structure of an electric compressor.
  • Proper moisture-free storage of compressor oil to prevent voltage changes or corrosion in air conditioning systems.
