WAECO presents new technology
WAECO presented its new ASC 3500G Low Emission service unit for buses and rail vehicles as early as in 2017. A/C service on buses and rail vehicles involves particularly high emission rates and thus considerable loss of R 134a refrigerant, which is increasingly scarce in supply. The new service unit cannot solve the problems resulting from the European legislation stipulating a limited use of R 134a refrigerant. It does, however, provide a solution to make more sustainable, eco-friendly and cost-efficient use of the existing resources. During the low-emission phase, the unit achieves a genuine deep-discharge. It recovers and recycles about 1-2 kg of refrigerant from the high-volume air conditioning systems – an amount that would be lost with conventional service units.
WAECO now tops its offer for this segment of the market. Servicing the A/C system of a bus or rail vehicle formerly took up to 10 hours. Thanks to an optional add-on module the trendsetter for A/C service systems is presenting at this year’s Automechanika fair, the time-consuming process can be reduced by up to 80%.
Said add-on option for the ASC series service units for high-volume A/C systems is an additional heating tape, which is placed around the accumulator of the vehicle A/C system and controlled via the software integrated in the service unit.
The combination of the low-emission technology and the optional heating tape gives motor garages and repair shops a double benefit: they not only save refrigerant but time as well, which means they can work much faster and more cost-efficiently.
