Denne metode skaber overtryk vha. kvælstof eller undertryk vha. vakuum med klimaservicestationen. Lækagesøgning med en sådan trykændring er primært egnet til første test af kraftigt lækkende eller endda tomme systemer. Den indikerer kun, at systemet har en lækage – ikke hvor lækagen er. Testen er kun mulig med klimaservicestationer, som stopper automatisk, når det er umuligt at oprette vakuum (f.eks. alle WAECO ASC-klimaservicestationer).

Hvis processen fortsætter uden fejladvarsel, kan du være sikker på, at systemet ikke har nogen lækage og kan fyldes med kølemiddel. Kravene i den tyske forskrift for kemikaliers klimabeskyttelse overholdes.
